The Army’s 250th Birthday Celebration in Philly with Green Star Families of America!

June 13 @ 10:00 am June 15 @ 5:00 pm

Honoring the Army’s Legacy and Making History with Green Star Families of America

We are planning an exciting and historic 250th Birthday Celebration of the United States Army, proudly hosted by the Penn & Franklin Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

This momentous occasion will take place on June 13, 14, & 15 right here in the birthplace of the United States Army and The United States.

Philadelphia is where the Army’s journey began, and where so many of our nation’s most significant moments unfolded—the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, the meeting of the Continental Congress, George Washington’s commissioning, and the very heart of our nation’s independence at Independence Hall. We are thrilled to honor the Army’s legacy in a city so rich in history, culture, and patriotism.

Our celebration will bring together leaders, soldiers, veterans, families, and supporters of the U.S. Army to recognize the strength, courage, and dedication of the men and women who have shaped the Army over the past 250 years and to showcase U.S. Army capabilities.

A Historic First: The Green Star Service Banner

This year, we are especially honored to announce the historic presence of Green Star Families of America at our celebration. For the first time in American history, the Green Star Service Banner will be unveiled—right here in the birthplace of America. This banner is dedicated solely to a mission no previous generation has attempted: facing the crisis of mental health and veteran suicide head-on.

The Green Star Service Banner stands as a powerful new symbol, representing families whose loved ones have been lost to suicide after serving our nation. By introducing this banner in Philadelphia, Green Star Families of America are making history and shining a light on the urgent need to support the mental health and well-being of our veterans and their families.

Leading the Way in Mental Health Advocacy

Throughout the celebration, Green Star Families of America will host special exhibits, remembrance ceremonies, and educational sessions to raise awareness, foster community, and provide resources for those affected by the invisible wounds of war. Their presence is a call to action for all Americans to join in the effort to end veteran suicide and to honor the service and sacrifices of every Army family—past, present, and future.

Join Us in Making History

Our celebrations will feature ceremonies, parades, flyovers, reenactments, and exhibits at Philadelphia’s historic sites and museums. This year’s program will provide exciting opening events for the Semiquincentennial, focus national attention on the 250-year history of the Army in the most historic setting possible, and promote the Army in the country’s most densely populated region.

Together, let us honor the legacy of the United States Army and support the groundbreaking work of Green Star Families of America as we make history in the birthplace of our nation.

We invite you to stand with us, to remember, and to take action—because every hero’s story deserves to be heard, and every family deserves hope.
