I am Natalie Brett, a proud military spouse, a widow, and the voice behind a mission born from unimaginable loss. My husband, Sgt Daniel Brett was a veteran who served his country with honor, and like too many heroes, he lost his battle with invisible wounds.

After Daniel’s passing, I quickly learned that surviving families often face their grief in silence. The pain of suicide carries stigma, unanswered questions, and a loneliness that no one prepares you for. I never wanted another widow or family to have to navigate this journey alone.

I found my purpose through Green Star Families of America in service to every spouse, parent, child, and loved one left behind. We provide compassion, understanding, and community to families grieving a veteran lost to suicide. Our mission is to honor our fallen heroes while offering healing, hope, and support to the Families who continue to carry their love.

My purpose is simple but powerful: to turn my grief into a bridge for other so that pain can become connection, and loss can become legacy. Helping other Families has helped me heal.

I did not choose this path but I choose to walk it with purpose. I carry my husband’s memory forward by helping others survive what I once thought would break me. Through Green Star Families of America his legacy lives on in every family that is served and every Warrior that is honored.
